Glasgow's Mobile-Ready Oriented Web Officially Released!

Glasgow Community,

We'd like to announce the release of the NEW Glasgow Mobile-Ready Webpage!

When you log on to our homepage through the web or through the FCPS Mobile App, you will be brought to the NEW mobile-device oriented site.  It was built specifically for mobile devices.  You'll be able to contact teachers/staff members/administrators (clicking on their names will bring up their email).  Furthermore, you will be able to call the school and more.

We are currently putting the finishing touches on the attendance tab, and soon you will be able to send in absences!

We hope you enjoy it!  Please leave us a comment on here when you use it and let us know the positives you see on the site, and any ideas you'd like us to consider!

Thanks!

Website Side Calendar Issues

Many of you may have acknowledged that there is an issue with the scroll bar on the side calendar on the main screen of the Glasgow Website.  There is a hang-up in the coding and it is currently being worked on.  We are trying to rectify it so that it works again as normal.  Please use the tab listed as "calendar" for all important dates.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

**UPDATE** FCPS Mobile App Available Now, and ALL-NEW Mobile Glasgow Site Coming Soon!

Glasgow Community,

We would like to take the time to let you know Fairfax County Public Schools has a mobile app - it is completely free - and is available for iPhone and Android currently.  There is another app that looks similar, but costs money - that is not the official one.  The official one is free.

Furthermore,  Mr. Stuecheli is redesigning the Glasgow Mobile Web version and we are very close to it's release!  It should be all ready and up and running by Wednesday, November 20th, 2013!
Please keep up with Glasgow's Announcement section of the website for more details.

On the new mobile site, you'll be able to call/email the staff member right from your phone.  The page will be a mobilized version of our main page.  There will be a few parts from the main page that will not be on the mobile site, but all contacts will remain as will much much more!  We really believe you'll find it be very helpful for you!

Goodbye Mr. Simmons!

Justin Simmons

Goodbye  Mr. Simmons!

This Friday, October 11, 2013 will be Mr. Simmons last day at Glasgow Middle School as he will be moving on to become Educational Specialist of College Success Programs.  Mr. Simmons has worked at Glasgow since the 2010-2011  school year.  Ever since that time, Mr. Simmons has become a huge part of the Glasgow Family and Community - motivating all students to do their very best and being an absolutely enjoyable, energetic, and   educator and individual to be around.  Mr. Simmons has the ability to make anyone and everyone smile - staff or student, and has the ability to make everyone's day enjoyable.  He will be greatly missed!

From Principal Penny Gros -

"I consider Justin to be a truly exceptional educator.  In the short time I have worked with him, he has demonstrated genuine enthusiasm, passion, humor and a strong work ethic and sense of team spirit coupled with a real gift for connecting with students and staff.  He will be greatly missed at Glasgow.  We wish him all the best with his pending wedding and this new promotion to serve a very special group of students county-wide."
