6th Grade FLE (Family Life Education) Begins Soon!

Sixth grade students will begin Family Life Education (FLE) on Wednesday, November 12, and lessons will conclude on Tuesday, November 18. Parents who do not their children participate in Human Growth and Development instruction may choose to opt their children out of any or all of the lessons. If you would like to opt your child out of one or more of these lessons, please fill out the opt-out form for your child’s grade level and return it to your child’s teacher. If you have already indicated your desire to opt your child out of the HGD lessons by using the form sent home earlier in the school year, you do not need to return this form. Please visit the website http://www.fcps.edu/is/hpe/fle.shtml for additional information and copies of the FLE opt-out forms.

We look forward to working as your partner in providing information that will help your child make healthy choices as he/she experiences the exciting changes and new challenges that occur during the middle school years.

Thank You,

Changes to the Glasgow MS Website...

Glasgow Community,

We have made some slight changes to the Glasgow MS Website (mobile site will be reflected soon).

  • We have moved our Front Office Support Staff information to the Administration page - (both the Administration and Front Office Support Staff will be on the same page)
  • The PTA Page has moved to the "About Glasgow MS" tab
  • We have added an "Advanced Academic Program" tab which contains important information
  • Ms. Riccio also has information she will post from time to time on the Literacy Announcement section.  Check into the Literacy department for any announcements/books to read!
These changes will also be reflected on the mobile site of Glasgow MS which you can see on any mobile device.  Just type www.fcps.edu/GlasgowMS on any phone, tablet, etc... and you'll be taken to the school website.

We are also pleased to announce that we have an anonymous online bullying form that works on both the desktop (computer) version of our website, and is now Mobile!  All information will be sent directly to our Student Services team and they will take care of it as they receive the reports!  All you will need to do is click on the image on the blue sidebar (the image will say "Stop Bullying!" on it (on the desktop version) (The mobile version has it's own link).  You can report it no matter if you are a student, parent, staff member, etc...  All reports will be completely anonymous.

We also post all Glasgow MS KIT (Keep-In-Touch)'s on our pages!  On both our desktop and mobile version, just click "Principal's Corner" and it will take you to the page that will contain all Keep-In-Touch's.

Be sure to check out our Social Media Pages!

Update to 6th Grade Family Life Education Information Night

Attention all parents of 6th grade students: You are invited to attend a meeting to preview the 6th grade Human Growth & Development lessons and materials and to talk with school staff about the program. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 14 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Health Rooms prior to the October PTA meeting.  All program materials and videotapes will be available for your review at that time.

As you may know, parents who do not wish to have their children participate in Human Growth and Development instruction may choose to opt their children out of any or all of the lessons. If you would like to opt your child out of one or more of these lessons, please fill out the form for your child’s grade level which will be available at the meeting on Monday and with all Health/PE teachers, and return it to your child’s teacher.
