Goodbye Mr. Simmons!
Justin Simmons |
Goodbye Mr. Simmons!
This Friday, October 11, 2013 will be Mr. Simmons last day at Glasgow Middle School as he will be moving on to become Educational Specialist of College Success Programs. Mr. Simmons has worked at Glasgow since the 2010-2011 school year. Ever since that time, Mr. Simmons has become a huge part of the Glasgow Family and Community - motivating all students to do their very best and being an absolutely enjoyable, energetic, and educator and individual to be around. Mr. Simmons has the ability to make anyone and everyone smile - staff or student, and has the ability to make everyone's day enjoyable. He will be greatly missed!
From Principal Penny Gros -
"I consider Justin to be a truly exceptional educator. In the short time I have worked with him, he has demonstrated genuine enthusiasm, passion, humor and a strong work ethic and sense of team spirit coupled with a real gift for connecting with students and staff. He will be greatly missed at Glasgow. We wish him all the best with his pending wedding and this new promotion to serve a very special group of students county-wide."

Open House - August 29th, 2013
Parents/Students,
Two important events are happening on August 29, 2013.
First, our "6th Grade and New Student Orientation" will occur from 8:30-10:30 am. This is for all the new 6th grade students as well as any new 7th and 8th grade students that are new to Glasgow this year. The teachers will be on hand to help direct the students to their classes, and where they need to be in the building. This is very beneficial, as it will help the students become familiar on where they will find their classes when school starts Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
Later that day, in the afternoon from 3 pm to 6 pm, we will hold our Glasgow Middle School "Open House." This will give all students (and their parents), new and returning, the opportunity to come pick up their packets (which will contain important information, and important forms to complete) and tour the building.
We will also be selling Physical Education Uniforms at that time. They will only be sold from 3-5 pm. The uniforms will be sold inside the gym. Check and cash will be accepted. Sorry, no credit or debit cards. The Physical Education department will start selling uniforms at 3 pm. You will find an order form for uniforms inside of the packet you will receive. The uniform will be a cotton t-shirt and mini-mesh shorts. Furthermore, should you need any more uniforms at any time during the school year, the order form is posted in the Health & Physical Education section of the school website. If you have any questions regarding uniforms or any other concerns, the Physical Education department will be there, and will have teachers from all grades on hand.
We hope you've enjoyed your summer, and look forward to seeing you on Thursday, and then again to start school on September 3rd!
Thank You!
